Bangladesh is gradually moving towards a cashless society: Telecom Minister

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the Digital Bangladesh program has resulted in a dramatic change in the country's banking transactions. Digital banking has reached the doorsteps of grassroots people. In continuation of this, Bangladesh is gradually moving towards a cashless society. But the more digital we become, the greater the security threat is. Therefore, the minister urged the concerned people to work hard to create awareness among the consumers about digital security. He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of Agrani Bank's Agrani e-account mobile apps on Sunday. Agrani Bank Board Member Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Kashem Humayun, Dr. Md. Faraz Ali, KMN Fazlul Haque Lablu and Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Mohammad Shams-ul-Islam spoke in the program. The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that we are on the verge of the Third Industrial Revolution or the Internet-based Industrial Revolution. The road ahead is much bigger. Technology will bring the most changes in the banking sector. In the last 12 years, under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, digital infrastructure has been built in Bangladesh. Business-industry-office, meetings, symposiums, workshops are also going on online in the Corona pandemic.
